Ear seeds
Tiny seeds on small adhesive dots, pressed at the ear.
Ear seeds are small seeds taped to points on the outer ear. You press them gently between visits. No needle goes in, so they are a choice for anyone who would rather skip needles, and a way to keep a visit going at home.

What to know before you come
Who usually comes
People who are nervous about needles, children with a parent present, and anyone who wants something to press on between visits.
What a visit is like
Your acupuncturist cleans the ear, places a few seeds with small dots of tape and shows you how to press on them. It takes a few minutes and can be added to any visit.
What you may feel afterward
The ear can feel tender where a seed sits. Some people notice the tape or itch. Take the seeds off if they bother you.
Tell us first
Before we start, tell your acupuncturist about any of these. We will change what we do, or skip it.
An allergy to adhesive tape or nickel
Broken or irritated skin on the ear
Pregnancy
Fear of needles: ear seeds are a good place to start
How many visits
Seeds stay on for several days. Come back for new ones when you like, or only when you want them.
What it does not do, and when to see a doctor instead
It does not replace your doctor, your medicines or tests. Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or a serious injury. See your doctor first for a new or worsening symptom.
