How fees work

You choose what you pay. These are the questions people ask before their first visit.

  • Insurance we work with

We don't take insurance directly, and we are not on any health plan's list of clinics. You choose what you pay, within the range posted at the front desk and on the booking page.

  • If you pay yourself

Pick any amount in the posted range, for any visit, and pay after your visit by cash, check or card. Nobody asks for pay stubs, tax forms or proof of income. HSA and FSA cards can often be used: ask your plan administrator.

    • The same chair and the same time, whatever you pay

    • You can pay a different amount at your next visit

  • Receipts for reimbursement

Ask the front desk for an itemized receipt after any visit. Some plans reimburse acupuncture when you send one in, and your plan decides. Before you send it, ask your plan:

    • Is there an acupuncture benefit?

    • How many visits does it allow?

    • Is there a copay or a deductible?

    • Do I need a referral?

  • An estimate in advance

If you pay without insurance, you are entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before it starts. Ask for one when you book. If a bill comes in $400 or more above your estimate, you can dispute it.

  • Checking your benefits

We can't check your benefits for you. If you plan to send a receipt to your plan, call the number on your card before your first visit and ask the questions above.

  • What the first visit includes

A first visit runs about a quarter hour longer than the rest: a short conversation, your chair and blanket, your needles, and about an hour of rest. You pay the same way as every visit.
